Life is always better when you are well-rested. Personally, my capacity to be productive doubles and the quality of my work goes up considerably. Mentally, I can process more, keep things organized and most things are more clear when I am rested. Physically, I feel better and I tend not to over eat (when I’m tired I eat more)
When you and I are tired, the body actually starts acting like it’s under attack and begins to release cortisol… the fear hormone. This is not helpful to the immune and digestive systems (research has shown that folks that don’t sleep enough are actually fatter) and can, over time, contribute to the development of certain health issues.
Lose weight while you sleep. It sounds like something you’d hear on a late night infomercial — just around the time you are reaching for that bag of cookies because, well, you can’t sleep.
